A few people have been tossing about an idea of having a space dedicated to comics in Melbourne. I've put my hand up to say - let's get this going.

The current vision as I see it is for a place where there are studios for10-12 working cartoonists to rent, a gallery space for exhibitions and launches, a space for workshops, talks and jams, a shared library of comics and books about comics, possibly a sales outlet for comics and art by the people involved.

So come along all ye cartoonists/comickers/graphic novelists/interested parties. But ask yourself seriously if you are willing to commit your time, your money and possibly your sanity to this venture. Think of it as a 2-5 year commitment - that's how i am.

I see it as a focussed community hub that supports and expands the stuff that already happens in Melb.
