A few people have been tossing about an idea of having a space dedicated to comics in Melbourne. I've put my hand up to say - let's get this going.
The current vision as I see it is for a place where there are studios for10-12 working cartoonists to rent, a gallery space for exhibitions and launches, a space for workshops, talks and jams, a shared library of comics and books about comics, possibly a sales outlet for comics and art by the people involved.

www.itisacircle.com launches today. Do drop by and have a look. there's a complete (if unconventional) story arc there already - The Blind Fisherman, after which we get into something that looks (a bit) more like a regular comic.
The artist is Tom Brown - www.copperage.deviantart.com and he has an unusual style to say the least - detailed, beautifully rendered and distinctly gothic.
