Still workin', I started in the evening, not morning as I'd planned. (Did manage to vote in the USA election so it's not wasted time ( I s'pose...)

Looks like I will be pacing the American schedule here in Camboland.

Will whack up some of the Project:24 pages (unlabled for now), nice stuff!

I think just getting some drawing done will help set the stage for even more intercontinental action next year. Cheers to you and the Melbs mob for pitching in! (And keep an eye on the Chat/Shoutbox on the frontpage for updates!)

hows it goin? swingin out the twelve hour mark now with only a cuppla pages to go really. After the whirlwind of Simon James, Cougar Flashy and Jo Waite contributed stylee to the random adventures of 'Sniffy Worm', it looks like we goin the 'get it done now, go to bed' way. Will post picks sometime and/or look into this again soon. For now - happy drawing. It's been fun!

Short answer: Nope. I edit the layouts. the line work and/or inks, and the colors -- it's a collaboration with the artist. Long answer: First, I pitch the story idea to the artist to see if it connects with them. Once I get their OK, I write what...

I take it that's more about ediing the text rather than going through comics and coming up with things like 'the man on page seven has uneven facial features, fix this!' ?

Most comics sites tend to focus on the artists (and rightly so, artists are wonderful people and comics would not happen without them). Many artists also write their own scripts, but I'm wondering if there's anyone else about here, like me, who wr...

The Example - Tom Taylor, Colin Wilson

When Melbourne playwright Tom Taylor decided he wanted to turn his 2005 short play The Example into a graphic novel, he got short shrift from illustrators he sought to contact on an internet forum. They were wary of getting involved with a speculative project. Taylor finally got a sympathetic response from artist Colin Wilson. It was stroke of luck. Wilson, an illustrator with more than 30 years of experience, has worked on cult offerings such as anti-hero Judge Dredd from British comic 2000 AD, Star Wars comics and French detective fiction. Finding an artist with a style to match the content is not easy, says Taylor, 34, a long-time devotee of speech bubbles and the picture grid. "With comics you're trying to create a full story and you can't do a really deep, philosophical, hard-hitting piece with a guy who draws a predominantly cartoony style; it doesn't work if it's Daffy Duck."
